Overview

The CryptoBox is a Debian/Linux based live-cd. This CD boots up, starting a secure fileserver. Even non-technical users are able to store their data on its encrypted harddisk. There is no special knowledge about cryptography or servers required at all.
The CryptoBox is fully controllable via your web browser and the data is available in your local network. Have a look at the ScreenShots or give the demo version a try.

Use the web interface of the CryptoBox in your favourite language:

  • English
  • German
  • Slovenian
  • French
  • (to be continued)

Download

With v0.3 we splitted the CryptoBox up in two parts, the live-CD and the cryptobox-server package.

  • Get the newest live-CD by following this link.
  • Try to install the Debian package with: apt-get install cryptobox-server (for v0.3.x).
  • You could buy a Live-CD at OpenSoft.nl, for 5.95€. Note: this is an unpaid advertisement link. So if you ask us kindly, we might send you a CD for a better price. ;)

Specifications

We splitted the CryptoBox code up into two master parts. First the cryptobox-server, which is available as Debian package. It's easy installable via "apt-get" and tested under Debian/etch and Ubuntu/edgy_eft, so you can turn your computer into a CryptoBox. Second the live-CD containing the cryptobox-server and a few more addons. This CD boots a standalone server, accessiable via your local network, which is the preferred way for non-linux users.

Development

Join the development crew and get rich and famous. Not really ;) but we like to see people involving in this project. You'd join a relaxed and open minded group of people and who knows, maybe you also earn fame.
